Meet John Baert: Your candidate for Ward 4
I have deep roots in the Louis Riel School Division, I'm dedicated to our community, and I have a vision for a stronger future for students. This is why I believe I'm the ideal choice for school trustee.
Why I'm running for school trustee
The main reason I want to run for school trustee in Louis Riel School Division Ward 4 is to provide a voice for families. We need to offer better supports for kids in classrooms, and ensure we budget wisely. We must also find ways to make our schools safer for everyone.
A lifetime in our community
Growing up, I attended Van Belleghem, General Vanier, Beliveau, and Windsor Park Collegiate. My son has attended two schools in the division. I know this neighbourhood and the people who call it home. However, I have noticed concerning changes in community schools since I attended as a kid. When issues arise, we need someone there to listen, help families navigate, and advocate for the community. I want to be that person for Ward 4.
Experience that makes a difference
My background in government. labour, and public service has equipped me with valuable skills. I understand the legislative process, how effective budgeting happens, and know how to get things done in an environment with competing interests. I also understand how to implement positive change and work as part of a team. I will bring these skills to the role of school trustee.
