How to vote

Election Day is Wednesday, October 28, 2026. To cast your ballot, the City of Winnipeg requires every voter to provide proof of their name and current address by presenting valid identification. Learn more about identification requirements

You have three convenient ways to make your voice heard in LRSD Ward 4:

1. Advance voting

Advance voting is open from Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 23. Regardless of where you live in the city, you can vote at any City of Winnipeg advance voting location.

Advance voting locations and times in / near Ward 4:

  • St. Vital Centre (1225 St. Mary's Rd)
    Friday, October 16: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
    Saturday, October 17: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
    Sunday, October 18: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Winakwa Community Centre (980 Winakwa Rd)
    Monday, October 19 to Thursday, October 22: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Norberry-Glenlee Community Centre – Glenlee Site (176 Worthington Ave)
    Monday, October 19 to Thursday, October 22: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

2. Voting on Election Day

Polls are open on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. If you are registered, you will receive a voter notification card in the mail indicating your assigned polling station. You can also use the button below to consult the City of Winnipeg website to confirm your designated polling place.

3. Voting by mail (sealed envelope ballot)

You can vote by mail if you are unable to vote in person due to:

  • A disability or health risk
  • Caregiver responsibilities for someone unable to leave home
  • Absence or significant travel distance from polling stations during voting periods

Key deadlines:

  • Apply: July 30 – October 25, 2026 (by 4:30 pm) online, by mail, or by email.
  • Return ballot: Must be received by the Senior Election Official before polls close on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 8:00 pm.

About LRSD Ward 4

The Louis Riel School Division Ward 4 covers communities across southeast Winnipeg, including these neighbourhoods:

  • Bonavista
  • Island Lakes
  • Royalwood
  • Niakwa Place (excluding Clarendon Rd, Niakwa Rd, Pine Bluff Rd, and Royal Salinger Rd)
  • Sage Creek
  • Southdale (excluding Weatherstone Place apartments and townhouses)
  • Southland Park
  • St. Vital Perimeter South (including only the area east of the Seine River, north of the city limit, and west of Plessis Rd)
